Current focus: AWABS law tackling mould
With the AWABS law now bringing mould and damp into sharper focus, families and communities are understandably concerned about what it means for their homes. At Burton Build, we’ve made this our current priority — making sure landlords and tenants don’t have to worry about falling behind with new regulations. We stay one step ahead so you don’t have to, guiding housing providers through the changes while making sure every home we treat is healthier and safer for the people living there. For us, it’s not just about ticking legal boxes — it’s about giving families peace of mind that their homes are protected.
Awaab's Law is legislation that requires social landlords in England to address significant hazards like damp and mould within fixed timeframes and to fix all emergency repairs within 24 hours of notification, starting October 27, 2025. Introduced following the tragic death of two-year-old Awaab Ishak from mould in his home, the law empowers tenants to take legal action if landlords fail to meet these new requirements
